Marko Slavnić was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, and came to the United States with his family in 1991 at the age of eight. He grew up in Austin, Texas, where he graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in RTF (radio, television and film).


Shortly after graduation, Marko began his professional career directing corporate and commercial videos for various national and international companies.

His first two short films after college were met with instant success. “Table 7,” played at over 50 various screenings and festivals throughout the world, and “Chicken vs. Penguin” went on to win the $100,000 Nikon Film Festival grand prize.


Since then Marko has directed four additional short films and is currently in post-production on his first feature film which was shot in Switzerland, Italy, Croatia and Bosnian, as well as in Austin.

Marko is currently developing his second feature film and splits his time between Austin and Los Angeles.
